Happy day three everyone! We are now 21 days from Christmas! One of my favorite things to do to get into the festive spirit is to watch some amazing Christmasy films. Let all of your emotions free, and grab some friends and snacks, and get ready to feel more festive. My goal every year is to watch all of these movies! Here is a list of my go-to all time favorites.
Love Actually
This movie to me is a holiday classic. It is definitely geared toward an adult audience, however, the love stories just melt your heart. This movie is wonderful for putting people in the holiday spirit. It is a longer movie, so make sure you grab some snacks and drinks! This movie is now available on Netflix!
The Holiday
Get ready to laugh and cry at the same time. This movie is probably my favorite out of the whole list. I love the actors and actresses, it is just so good! You can buy this movie on amazon or iTunes! I would usually watch this movie during the wintertime but it is so good that I love watching it all year!
Serendipity
Shopping during Christmastime is something most people do, but what if someone told you that when you were picking out a pair of gloves from the store that you were going to meet your soulmate? Exactly. It is magical. This is the kind of love story everyone read about when they were a child. This movie is on Hulu, and other streaming services.
Elf
To me, Elf is a movie I have been watching for most of my teen/adult years. Whenever I ask people what their fav Christmas movie is they usually say Elf. This movie is full of laughs and will make you feel like a kid a Christmas again. This movie is super simple to find, it is on most major streaming devices.
The Hallmark Channel
I know this isn’t a specific movie title, however, Hallmark movies all show some aspect of Christmas, usually through love. I do enjoy the movies as they are super light hearted. My favorite movie on the Hallmark channel is called “The Bridge”. It has two parts and it is soo good!
Four Christmases
This movie starring Reese Witherspoon will definitely make you laugh and cry. While the two in love were looking for a relaxing holiday, they got exactly what they did not want. This movie can be found on most streaming sites.
Miracle on 34th Street
This movie was a part of Christmas tradition in my house. A 90’s classic film which is sure to put you in the festive spirit. This movie is one of my favs. It can be found on most streaming sites.
Polar Express
Hot chocolate anyone? Honestly, when I was a kid I would dream that I could go on a train that took me to the north pole. This movie is perfect for kids and adults. This movie can be found on streaming sites, however, it is not on Netflix.
Santa Clause (1-3)
What if one day you fell off a roof and ended up becoming Santa Clause? Yes. This is exactly what kinds of fun stuff happens in Santa Clause. Sadly these movies aren’t on Netflix this year, but they can be easily found on Amazon or iTunes!
It’s a Wonderful Life
This is an older movie, but certainly a classic. If you haven’t seen this one yet, you have to give it a shot. James Stewart is just wonderful in this classic. Amazon prime has this movie for free!
The Princess Switch
This is a newer movie on Netflix that is also super light hearted and will make your heart smile. I love watching movies that are about the classic “prince meets girl”, so if you like those kinds of movies as well, I would so give this one a try. It is on Netflix right now!
The Family Stone
For those of you who enjoy family oriented movies, this one is for you. There is a little bit of comedy, mixed in with a spice of romance, and a whole lot of angry family love. I love watching this movie with my family over the holidays. This movie can be found on streaming sites.
How the Grinch Stole Christmas
This is another great classic movie. I remember watching this movie as a kid and loving it. I love the town people and the costumes. It is a great movie for families!
