大家好！好久不见！Hello everyone! LONG TIME no talk. It’s almost like a friend you haven’t spoken to in years yet when you do speak it’s like time stood still. Welcome back to my little space online. Today I come to you from my porch, where I have been living for the past few weeks during these difficult times.
I am so excited to be back and to create more fun content on this page. Today I wanted to sprinkle a little happiness in your life and help you try and forget, just for a second, what is going on in the world. I hope you are all reading this from the comfort of your own home and feeling well. I wish you all health and happiness. I am trying to use this time productively and do things that bring me joy and could potentially lighten up someone else’s day. I am so excited to be back on this platform and have more time to put into it. It always helps me to think about lighthearted topics like fashion, decor, or makeup. It isn’t everyones way of coping or cup of tea, but that’s what I enjoy most. So, as a disclaimer, you don’t need to be shopping right now. For me, it is a way to live a somewhat normal life.
Others hobbies that I have been having fun with are studying academic Chinese and preparing for my time at Johns Hopkins in China next year. I am praying hard that it will happen as I have been looking forward to going back to Asia. Reading and watching youtube videos have also taken my mind off of everything going on. I will do a full blog post of what do you in your house during isolation. I have also basically nailed down a morning routine that has helped me a lot. Keep your eyes out for that post as well!
Here are just a few small updates that have happened since the last time I wrote on here:
I got engaged to my best friend in the world last August
We both got our BA and BS
We got into graduate school (the same one which is so happy!) Lets go JHU!
We got a baby puppy who we love so stinking much, she is the light of our lives.
We are moving to China next September! (If the world is better, of course)
I am going to start uploading on here regularly! My current schedule will be Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays at 11am 🙂
During this time of sitting at home, I have been enjoying online shopping. Lately, I have been trying to shop more sustainably. I love finding special pieces that would spice up my wardrobe. It brings a little bit of excitement into your week as well, as you are waiting patiently for your package to arrive!
Lately I have been loving small instagrams shops that sell vintage, thrifted, or hand-made pieces. What I have realized through shopping fast fashion is that a lot of the clothes look the same. I always felt like someone else could be wearing the same piece or similar. The great part of small businesses that are environmentally friendly are that all of the pieces are different and no one will own something like yours. Something like this top that I am wearing is so unique and a piece I will have in my wardrobe for a long time!
My style has changed slightly the past few years, maybe due to being in my twenties, but I love comfy clothes and clothes that basically make me feel fabulous. It is really hard to find unique pieces that you love and that fit in your style as well as your wardrobe.
One new instagram shop that I LOVE is Rein.vintaged. My childhood skating friend, Morgan, owns the shop, and is extremely talented. She sells many different types of wonderful pieces and each of them are so special. If you have a chance to snag a piece, you will see how amazing the pieces are. What is amazing about the pieces is that some of them are customized vintage and some are customized second-hand. It is so much better for the environment to shop this way and you are directly supporting a local small business, which is a win-win in my book! I have always had an interest in second-hand/vintage fashion, however it is SO hard to find the gems in thrift stores, especially now that they are closed. Shopping through an online shop promotes the same ideas as thrift shopping, yet the owners have already found the gems and all you have to do is look through their page! Act fast though, the best pieces, especially denim, go FAST! She has been creating really trendy pieces as well, like tie dye!
A few tricks I have for shopping online through instagram is know your measurements! I can range between wearing an x-small to medium so I really try to see if it will fit through the photos that the store has provided. Another tip for sizing is to know your waist size (ex: 23, 24, 25, 26 27…) so when you are looking into a piece, you can be certain if it will fit.

4. Spinderellathreads– Love the name! The clothes are recycled and so cute! I will do a full blog post of my favorite thrift finds and favorite places to buy recycled thrift finds! This store is one of my favs!
